And I’m happy I slapped that lady in the face when she offered me a million bucks.
Everyone’s favorite meathead vampire,
Kellan Lutz, spilled the dirt to Ryan Seacrest on Monday about “turning down” the role of Edward Cullen.
"I was doing [HBO's]
Generation Kill and was sent the script in Africa," Kellan brags. "I put it off, then finally read it and by the time I got back to L.A., they said, 'OK, are you ready to audition for Edward? I said, 'I don't want to play Edward. He's too complex, too depressing for me.” He then claims he was asked to play the part of Emmett, which was "one of those fun-loving characters that I like to play" the simple-minded Kellan explains. Ryan asked Kellan if he’s bitter he’s not getting as much attention as Rob. "No," insisted Kellan. "Fame is fame. And Rob is handling it like a champ. Everything that comes with this whole phenomenon is breathtaking. I don't think anybody could prepare you for something like this."
Kellan completed his justification of being the third leading man in
New Moon, by explaining that R.Pattz,
Kristen Stewart and
Taylor Lautner can’t go unnoticed, while he "can just float…I'm so happy with Emmett," he says. "I don't care to be famous."
Keep telling yourself that Kellan!
