Miley Cyrus Says The Internet Will Ruin Your LifeMonday, March 15, 2010 4:36 PM
Remember when Miley Cyrus was all over Twitter and YouTube? Well, those days are long gone folks. She said that life is better now that she’s sworn off all the fun perks of social media: “I’m a lot less on my phone. I’m a little bit more social. I have a lot more real friends than friends who are on the Internet that I’m talking to which is not cool, not safe, not fun, and most likely not real. I just think everything is better when you’re not so wrapped up in that.” Miley thinks that other tweens and teens should follow her lead: “I’m telling kids, ‘don’t be on the Internet. It’s dangerous. it’s not fun. It ruins your life and you should just be outside playing sports or something and not sitting in front of any type of screen.” Apparently Liam was laughing throughout this whole interview. Figures. So far, even Miley’s friends have not taken her advice: “I think it’s kinda lame. I go hang out with my friends and they’re so busy taking pictures of what they’re doing to put on Facebook that they’re not really enjoying what they’re doing. You’re going to look back and have ten million pictures but you’re not in one of them because you weren’t having fun. You were too busy clicking away. So, I think just enjoy the moment you’re in and stop telling people about it. Just enjoy it for yourself.” Miley, have you ever heard of a little thing called restraint? Maybe some people can have a healthy relationship with their Twitter account. Would you quit Facebook just because Miley told you to? |
