The Twilight Saga: New Moon has officially had the best opening day in film history, taking the title from The Dark Knight after just 24 hours in theaters.
According to box office totals released Saturday, the vampire romance starring Rob Pattinson, Taylor Lautner and Kristen Stewart raked in $72.7 million on its Friday opening day -- earning $26.3 million in revenue from midnight runs alone.
