T.I. Avoids Additional Drug Charges

With bad news comes good news…kind of!

Rapper T.I., who was recently sentenced to 11 months in prison, will no longer face drug charges related to his September 1st arrest in Los Angeles. However, he will still have to turn himself into police next week.

T.I. and his new wife “Tiny†were arrested in the Los Angeles neighborhood of West Hollywood after police smelled marijuana coming out of his vehicle. After searching his Maybach, police found marijuana and ecstasy in his possession. After T.I. failed a drug test, a federal judge sentenced him to serve 11 months in prison for violating his probation. But Los Angeles prosecutors have decided not to file additional charges related to his September 1st arrest.

A spokesperson for T.I. said that he will be turning himself in next Monday to serve his sentence. According to the Associated Press, the rapper was originally sentenced by a federal judge to serve up to two years in prison; however, the MC pleaded that his punishment be reduced. T.I. admitted that he has a drug problem. You think? Too bad he had to be taken away from his children (again) before he could admit that to himself.

It’s unknown how this will affect the release of his new album “King Uncaged.†More importantly, if his wife Tiny also receives jail time, arrangements will have to be made for their kids.
