Twitter Tuesday: Hilary Duff Joins Twitter

Hilary Duff has become the latest celebrity to join Twitter. While celebrities like Miley Cyrus and Demi Lovato have tried to kick their Twitter habit, Hilary Duff is just getting started.

In two days she’s already attracted 33,000 followers. That’s a respectable number, but not a very impressive one either. She has a long way to go before she catches up with other celebrity Tweeters. Duff says she finally joined the site to promote her new book, Elixir.

“Can’t believe I finally got roped into this twitter thing. I’ve really been living in the dark ages,” tweeted Duff.

The social networking site has already started taking over her life. One day after signing up Duff was already tweeting, “Oh my… 5 am happened tooo fast…is it sick that I wanted to tweet right away this morning?”

Despite her busy schedule, she’s found time to tweet about her appearance on the Today Show, thank fans for their support, and of course, talk about the weather. “It’s storming in ny☂ Gunna have a great night sleep.”

As of right now, Twitter has more than 165 million registered users, and Twitter co-founder Evan Williams thinks his micro-blogging site will eventually have more than 1 billion users. If new members continue to log on at the current pace, then that could actually happen. Too bad celebrities don’t count for extra.
