Twitter, why doth thou torture us so?

Sure, it’s great to know what your favorite celebs are doing throughout the day, but lately it feels like Twitter has taken over our lives, or at least our televisions. Ashton Kutcher and CBS are teaming up to launch ANOTHER twitter-based show called Dear Girls. It’s adapted from a Twitter feed which follows a man who tweets about the stupid things the girls who live above him say. By eavesdropping on them, he learns the ways of women.

This project will be the third twitter feed to get adapted for TV in recent months. After the success of $#*! My Dad Says, CBS started hearing pitches for more shows based on 140 character Twitter posts. Not only that, Dear Girls is the second Twitter feed Kutcher has optioned this month. He already sold a pitch based on the popular feed Shhh…Don’t Tell Steve, a Twitter profile which follows a man who Tweets about the stupid things he hears his roommate say. So original.

It’s no wonder Ashton Kutcher wants to produce Twitter-based projects. His Twitter profile is the most successful thing he’s done in years. Isn’t it bad enough that Twitter already has two shows, how much more do we need?
