What The Hell Is Happening On Sesame Street? The Muppets Do True Blood For Kids

Sesame Street has seriously upped its game for the 41st season.

Earlier this week, Katy Perry flashed Elmo during a game of dress up. Today the children’s show parodies the HBO’s “True Blood” in a new video called “True Mud.”

The clip shows a Bill Compton muppet zooming into a diner and ordering a plate of true mud. He’s served by a purple muppet with a familiar blonde ponytail. While Sookie and Vampire Bill get acquainted, angry customers shout, “He must be one of them grouches! Grouches love mud!”

Sesame Street announced today that it would not air the Katy Perry segment due to an excess of awesome cleavage. They decided to follow up that announcement with “True Mud,” which simultaneously teaches kids about rhyming and spoofs the very adult vampire show.

The producers of Sesame Street really have this viral video thing down. Who knew the muppets could be so hip?
